Proxmox, as you may know, is my go-to virtualization environment at home. A wide range of supported hardware combined with open-source tools makes for a great foundation for a homelab.
Proxmox has been updated to version 8.4. This version improves functionality for shared hardware devices, a backup API, the ability to pass files from the VM host to the guests directly, and kernel/package upgrades.
I’m evaluating Proxmox Backup server for my lab backup, am still looking for a solution for backing up clients. We’ll see if that becomes a possibility now that Proxmox has an API.
